Resumen


Antecedentes: La primera causa de mortalidad en mujeres en el Paraguay es desde hace décadas el cáncer de cuello uterino, lo que ubica a dicha enfermedad como un problema significativo de salud publica en el país, debiéndose probablemente a un aumento en la incidencia del cáncer cervical invasivo y de lesiones precursoras sumado a una falta de mejor diagnostico y manejo adecuado de los diferentes aspectos de las lesiones precursoras.

Objetivo: Proveer una guía clínica y recomendaciones para el diagnóstico, manejo y tratamiento de pacientes con lesiones neoplásicas intraepiteliales (CIN) confirmados por biopsia.

Material & Métodos: Se ha evaluado y hecho revisión de diversos aspectos del diagnóstico, manejo y tratamiento de lesiones precursoras del cáncer de cervix, elaborada en base a una revisión de la información médica actualizada basada en la evidencia, respaldado por una revisión de información científica mundial, utilizando herramientas como MEDLINE search, The Cochrane Library search, yla National Comprehensive Cancer Network Clinical Practice Guidelines.

Resultados: Se ha desarrollado las Guías y recomendaciones para el manejo de pacientes con CIN enla Clínica de Tumores María & Josefa Barbero - FundaciónLa Piedad, fundamentados sobre una revisión de la literatura científica mundial, y de la experiencia de los profesionales integrantes del servicio, con la subsiguiente adaptación de flujogramas de manejo de acuerdo a las necesidades locales del país.

Conclusión: La presente Guía Clínica permitirá unificar los criterios, estandarizar los métodos y mejorar la calidad del tratamiento de los pacientes que acuden a este servicio, como así también redundará en beneficio propio del especialista mejorando el manejo clínico en forma sistematizada
